Richard John Ramsey Burrows disappeared when he was due to go on trial accused of abusing young boys
In the late 90s, alleged child abuser Richard John Ramsey Burrows failed to turn up at court for his trial. A quarter of a century later, he is still missing and still listed as one of the country's most wanted men, reports Cheshire Live.
The Crimestoppers appeal says he is wanted for the 'rape of a male child under 13'. The location of the alleged crime is recorded as Hartlebury in Worcestershire, which comes under West Mercia Police's jurisdiction. Detectives from Cheshire Constabulary’s Paedophile Unit took the step of releasing age-enhanced images of Burrows which appeared on the programme when it aired.
“It may be the case that Burrows may have assumed a different identity, which is why we have taken the decision to release the image. I would urge anyone who recognises Burrows, or who has any knowledge of his current location or whereabouts in recent years, to contact Cheshire Police on 0845 458 0000.
