Comal County investigators believe they have recovered the body of Shana Alison DiMambro, though positive identification is still pending.
The body was found around 7:50 p.m. Friday in the 200 block of Mitchell Drive by someone who was walking along the property.
DiMambro, 45, was reported missing on July 19 at her home in the 100 block of Mitchell Drive, not far from where the remains were discovered. Her husband, Chris Anto, said she was last seen at their RV when he left for work around 7 a.m.. When he came back home for lunch, she was gone.Vice President of SSSA Eric Herr said in under an hour, the body was found less than 200 feet from where DiMambro lived.“You could see a human skull. You could see the deterioration of the bone in the hands and the arms,” Herr said.“I saw the tattoo on her back and her husband had told me that she had a tattoo of a sunflower on her back,” Herr said.
At the time of her disappearance, DiMambro was wearing a white v-neck t-shirt, pink shorts and black flip-flops.Her family is aware of the investigation’s findings so far and Travis County officials are working to positively ID the remains.Copyright 2022 by KSAT - All rights reserved.
