Two men in life-threatening condition after Friday morning Hilltop fire
One man has died and another suffered life-threatening injuries after a fire on the Hilltop Friday morning.
Columbus Fire Battalion Chief Steve Martin said fire crews were called to 316 Lechner Ave. around 7:40 a.m. by a neighbor who spotted the fire. Firefighters were quickly able to get water on the blaze, Martin said, and found one of the men inside the single-story wood-frame home. The second man was found a short time later and had to be brought out of the house through a window. The fire was contained within about 30 minutes. Both men, who have not yet been identified, were taken to Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center in critical, life-threatening condition, Martin said.
