A man was shot and killed in the parking lot of a Salt Lake City apartment complex Sunday morning, and police are asking the public to help find the shooter.
One man is dead after a fatal shooting at an apartment complex at 1700 South and West Temple.According to a news release from Salt Lake City police, the man was shot after an argument broke out in the parking lot of an apartment complex at about 1700 South and West Temple.
As the man drove to the complex around 11:45 a.m., officers said he was followed there by a second car. Once in the parking lot, the man argued with an unknown number of people in that car, and someone in that vehicle shot him, the release stated. The shooter drove off and is still at large, police said, and an early investigation indicates the shooting wasn’t random.
The victim was pronounced dead on the scene after life-saving efforts by officers, according to the release. Detectives are asking anyone with security cameras that capture traffic on West Temple from 1500 South to 2100 South to review those systems to see if they captured any speeding vehicles in the area between 11:45 a.m. and 12 p.m.
