Once again, San Diego County’s weather will abruptly shift from being far warmer than average to cold, rainy and, in places, snowy.
The National Weather Service says a Pacific storm will flow ashore late Thursday and early Friday where it will drop about 0.50 inches of rain at the coast by the time the system moves off to the east early Sunday. The storm also could drop up to six inches of snow above the 5,000-foot level in the San Diego County mountains and about 3 inches at the 4,000-foot level.Forecasters say San Diego will reach 79 on Wednesday — which is 13 degrees above average. But temperatures will top out at 70 on Thursday and only hit 58 on Friday and Saturday. It’s also possible that the storm will produce lightning west of the mountains.in February, swinging from record highs to record lows, notably in San Diego.
