A quick phone call to your provider could instantly lower your broadband bill.
Most households have now received an email or letter from their broadband provider letting them know that their monthly bills will be going up next month. Consumer champion Martin Lewis recently warned of the looming hike which will see most providers adding around 8 per cent on to current packages for existing customers.
The charity said that not being able to go online could mean that older people on low incomes are unable to access information about financial entitlements or services, miss out on savings by not being able to search for the best deals and lose vital social connections. The charity explained that the social tariff broadband landscape paints a ‘confusing picture’ for older people on a low income because each provider has their own set of eligibility criteria and differing price structures.
