Superman is an old man.
Warning! Contains spoilers for Superman: Lost #6!An elderly version of Superman has finally returned to DC Comics in all his bearded glory. Recently the Man of Steel has been hopelessly lost in space. After being stranded an incalculable distance from Earth, Superman has been doing everything he can to find the allies he needs to make it back to the planet he calls home.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Superman's long journey through space continues in Superman: Lost #6 by Christopher Priest, Carlo Pagulayan, Jason Paz, Jeromy Cox. While attempting to stop a ship's warp drive from collapsing and creating a singularity that would destroy Earth, Superman ends up stranded in space, an unknown distance away from Earth. With no other real choice, Superman settles down on a planet he calls Kansas with a new character called Hope.
Superman Is Stopped By His Older Self One of the weirdest storylines that DC ever put out was 1995's Superman: At Earth's End by Tom Veitch, Frank Gomez, and Angus McKie, a bizarre story that involves an old Superman being one of the last surviving heroes on Earth after an apocalypse. This story was one of the first "serious" interpretations of an older Superman after the world had ended.
In a desperate attempt to get home, Superman tries to enter a singularity similar to the one that stranded him to begin with. But due to his weakened state and the fact the ship he was using was literally torn apart by the event horizon, Superman doesn't seem like he's going to survive. But desperate to get home, Superman refuses to take no for an answer and tries to force his way through, this is when he's stopped by Old Man Superman.
Old Man Superman Is Here To Save The Day With Superman: Lost only halfway through its storyline, it's still unclear how exactly Superman has managed to make it home after being stranded so far away. One thing readers know for sure though is that however Superman manages to get back, it seems that he doesn't do it alone. It's entirely possible that one of the reasons Superman is able to return to his family is because of the help of Old Man Superman, a long-forgotten DC character.
