Senate District 3 runs along the bottom of Franklin County before snaking up the east side to grab Reynoldsburg, New Albany and parts of Westerville.
Antonio, who is expected to lead Senate Democrats next year, says that Republicans raising more money is nothing new. Sonza says he's running for Senate District 9, which has historically been a majority-minority district based in Cincinnati, because"when I look at politics now that is not what I want to leave for our children."Sonza won over former Cincinnati Democratic Committee chair Freeman McNeal with that message, but Ohio Senate Democrats director Simon Dallas said he doesn't think most voters in his hometown know who Sonza is.
