An Ohio man who was arrested in Alabama was found guilty this week of assaulting law enforcement officers in the Jan. 6, 2021, breach at the U.S. Capitol.

He was taken into custody at an extended stay motel in Huntsville while he was reportedly in Alabama for work.

Kenneth Joseph Owen Thomas, of Ohio, was arrested May 26, 2021 in Alabama for alleged crimes during the Jan. 6, 2021, breach at the U.S. Capitol. In the first 28 months since Jan. 6, more than 1,000 individuals have been arrested on charges related to the Capitol breach, including more than 320 individuals charged with assaulting or impeding law enforcement. The investigation remains ongoing.
