Concerns about the soil and ground water in parts of Plain City. It comes from an old manufacturing plant still being cleaned 20 years after its closure.
There are concerns about the soil and groundwater in parts of Plain City .Many of you will remember the Ranco Facility that had a massive presence on U.S. Route 42 in Union County.
The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency proposed a plan Tuesday night to have a groundwater monitoring program over the course of a few years.EPA wants to make sure it knows the extent of contamination, if any, throughout the property before development can happen.
Fast forward to today, Ohio EPA says it's not the current site but an area west of the facility that's a concern. That sludge was buried in that area.
