An off-duty NYPD officer was robbed at gunpoint outside of a sports bar in Manhattan early Friday morning, according to police sources.
One of the off-duty officer’s cousins tried to flee, but a suspect whacked him in the head with his gun, cutting his forehead. An assailant also grabbed a chain from another cousin’s neck, sources said.
The officer, who did not have his service firearm with him at the time, had his phone and wallet taken, sources said. He never identified as a cop during the stick-up, the sources added. The suspects then jumped back into the vehicle and drove off eastbound on Dyckman Street, according to sources. The off-duty cop’s phone was tracked and later found on the side of the road on Harlem River Drive, sources said. The phone was processed for fingerprints and returned to the officer.Share this article:
