Detective Inspector McDonald was collecting lunch for herself and some colleagues
When Natalie McDonald popped into Greggs for her lunch yesterday, she only expected to leave with a butty or a bake. But the Manchester city centre neighbourhood inspector came away from the shop with something entirely different.
The 41-year-old offender was arrested on suspicion of theft. Police soon realised that the man was also wanted on suspicion of burglary in North Manchester, drug offences in Scotland and failing to appear at Court. He remains in custody for questioning this morning . GMP says that the incident 'proves that officers are always on-duty, even on their lunch break'.
