MESA, Ariz. — Drew Rucinski’s feel-good journey, on the verge of reaching its high point following his return to Major League Baseball with the Oakland A’s after four years in Korea, could be delayed to start the season.

I think if you don’t have that goal you’re in the wrong mindset. So just to have it work out and be here now, in this locker room, it’s incredible. I’m trying to make the most of every opportunity I’m given.”
“We’re excited to have him,” Kotsay said earlier this month. “Everything we’ve heard, he’s a competitor, he had a point in his career where he transitioned to go to Korea, go overseas and make some money, which you can’t blame someone for that opportunity. He pitched well over there, the numbers kind of represent that.
But Rucinski’s long road back to the majors is still validating, even if his second go at the majors hasn’t gotten off to the best start. He’s thankful for the opportunity he has and the wild ride that led him to it.
