The CIA lost dozens of spies after intelligence agencies in Russia, China, Iran and Pakistan hunted down US intelligence assets, a memo sent to all CIA stations across the world warned, according to NY Times
"Adversarial intelligence services in countries such as Russia, China, Iran, and Pakistan have been hunting down CIA's sources and in some cases turning them into double agents," says New York Times, citing a"top secret" cable.
The cable was distributed to every CIA station and facility around the world last week, the newspaper reported on Tuesday.Pakistan's marked capacity for breaking CIA networks Former officials who spoke to the Times said the CIA has grown rusty at recruiting informants in foreign governments after spending decades focused on post-9/11 counterterrorism.
