Two high-ranking commanders were reassigned at the NYPD on Wednesday, just one day after Eyewitness News asked the mayor about the NYPD's handling of attacks on Asian New Yorkers.
NEW YORK -- The NYPD said it will replace the commanding officers of both Special Victims Division and Hate Crime Task Force as part of routine reshuffling in a new administration.
Among the several cases mentioned was that of Esther Lee. The case involved a man on the A train, spitting at a woman who refused to give him a fist bump. "He said I think you're over exaggerating," Lee said."You're taking a situation and blowing it out of proportion." "Jessica Corey telling me, 'you know you really should not have filmed him, you really should not have taken your phone and started taking footage of him because you probably triggered him,'" Lee said.
