Officer Brett Boller is expected to make a full recovery after being shot in the hip while responding to a call Wednesday in Jamaica. , but officials are expected to provide an update later today.
"Very fortunate that he did come out of surgery," NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell said after the officer was shot."He's recovering. Thankful for that."Cellphone video showed fellow brothers in blue carrying the 22-year-old officer into a police cruiser and making a mad dash to doctors. The NYPD said the suspect shoved an officer, ran away, then shot Boller when Boller caught up with him.
