Nicholas Pagano, 31, who allegedly attacked a nurse at Hackensack University Medical Center, was found dead of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound in South Jersey, sources said.

Pagano, of West Deptford, was wanted for attempted murder, aggravated arson, aggravated assault and weapons possession. According to an affidavit of probable cause, a witness told police Pagano was not scheduled to work on the day of the attack. The witness saw him enter a hallway near the break room about 5:15 a.m. and then heard a woman scream.
