Liverpool international round-up as Andy Robertson sparks injury concern as Darwin Nunez, Alexis Mac Allister and Harvey Elliott star on the world stage
Harvey Elliott and Darwin Nunez starred for their respective countries but Liverpool were handed an injury blow when Andy Robertson was forced off with a shoulder problem.
There was reason for positivity from those representing Liverpool on the world stage, namely Elliott and Nunez who both played key roles for England under-21s and Uruguay. Tartan Army manager Steve Clarke confirmed that Robertson will return to Liverpool, playing no further part in the remainder of Scotland's camp.
Elliott netted a goal at the end of both halves during the rout. His first of the night was a thunderbolt into the top left corner before he picked the pockets of the Serbia defender to race through and round off the scoring. James Rodriguez and Mateus Uribe were on target for Colombia but Diaz suffered a largely frustrating night, just days after manager Nestor Lorenzo called on fans to temper their expectations for the winger.
The reigning World Cup champions moved top of their qualifying group with a 1-0 win thanks to Nicolas Otamendi's goal after three minutes.
