There are 7,000 fewer pubs in England and Wales than there were 10 years ago, research has found 🍺
"Whilst pubs proved remarkably resilient during the pandemic, they're now facing new headwinds grappling with the cost of doing business crisis through soaring energy costs, inflationary pressures and tax rises," Robert Hayton, Altus Group's UK president, said.
Some 200 pubs disappeared from communities in England and Wales from the end of last year to the end of last month.The biggest drop in the past six months was in the West Midlands, where 28 pubs were lost.More from Business
