The Nuggets returned to practice Wednesday with their season resuming Thursday night at the Kings. Denver embarks on its final 24 games of the season — 15 home and nine away — motivated for a postseason push.
“They were invited to this big tournament in Kansas City. I went out there and was a proud dad and husband,” Malone said. “Just kind of turned off the Nuggets for a few days and I enjoyed it. It was fun to watch them and their team. They’re really good. … I’m not going to back-to-school meetings or all their other practices and games.
“So, when I have a chance to do so, I owe it to them and I enjoy it. It’s great to reconnect as a family during that break.” The Nuggets are currently the No. 6 seed in an ultra-competitive Western Conference despite the long-term injury absences of starters
