Nottingham Panthers and Sheffield Steelers will not return to action this week following the tragic death of Adam Johnson. The Elite Ice Hockey League has confirmed that the other eight teams will resume play on Saturday, November 4.
Games on Sunday, October 29, Tuesday, October 31 and Wednesday, November 1 were postponed after Panthers forward Adam Johnson suffered a severe cut to his neck caused by an opponent's skate blade.
The statement said: "The Elite Ice Hockey League is still coming to terms with the events of Saturday night and the heartbreaking news on Sunday morning that Adam Johnson had passed away. We would like to thank our fans and the global hockey community for their thoughts and wishes to Adam’s family, friends, and team-mates, as well as to everyone involved in Saturday’s game.

British Ice Hockey Match Abandoned Due to Medical EmergencyA match between the Sheffield Steelers and Nottingham Panthers had to be abandoned after a Nottingham player suffered a medical emergency. Spectators were asked to leave the arena as medical officers attended to the injured player.
