Following last week's solar activity, Scottish stargazers may be treated to more beautiful light displays.
The Northern Lights could make another appearance over Scotland this weekend, as forecasters predict more stunning light displays.
The Met Office reported: "Enhancement to the aurora is likely into early 18 May following the arrival of a CME that left the Sun on 14 May. The aurora may become visible as far south as parts of Scotland where skies are clear. Mainly background aurora conditions are expected thereafter." It's important to remember that clear skies are also required for the Northern Lights to be fully visible. The prime time of day to see them is between 9 and 12pm, but it may also linger into the early morning.
