The pressure is mounting on current boss Stephen Kenny
Former Northern Ireland international Neil Lennon has seen his odds slashed to become the Republic of Ireland's next manager.
The Republic have also dropped to a nine-year low in the FIFA World rankings, plummeting to 58th in the latest list. They haven't been that low since 2014.Ireland have been slipping down the rankings since Kenny took over as boss in 2020, and off the back of last month's defeat to Greece, they have dropped another three places and are sandwiched between Albania and Saudi Arabia, with Burkina Faso and Jamaica moving up.
More concerning for Irish fans is the fact that Ireland are edging towards their lowest-ever ranking. That took place in the dark days post-Giovanni Trapattoni when Ireland slipped to 70th in 2014.
