The public is reminded to not approach him
Northamptonshire Police have joined a number of forces throughout the UK in appealing to the public for information on a suspected murderer. He is wanted by Greater Manchester Police and the public are warned not to approach him if they see him.
John Bellfield, 28, from Manchester, is wanted on suspicion of the murder of Thomas Campbell, 38, in Tameside last month. Mr Cambell's body was discovered by officers in Mossley on the morning of July 3. Northants Police took to Facebook to share the appeal from GMP. The post read: "He is from the Openshaw area of [Manchester] and is believed to also have links to Lancashire, but could be anywhere in the country."The public is reminded to not approach Bellfield and to call 999 if anyone sees him. GMP are actively seeking his arrest and ask that anyone with information about his whereabouts contacts them immediately.
Officers also warned anyone who knows Bellfield and may be withholding information. Assisting a suspect is a criminal offence and can lead to a prison sentence of up to 10 years.At NorthantsLive we're more than just news.
