North Korea has fired a “ballistic missile” eastward that “likely flew” over Japan’s territory and fell outside the waters of the country’s exclusive economic zone, says Japan’s Cabinet Secretary Matsuno
The launch is the latest weapons test by North Korea in an apparent response to military drills between South Korea and the United States.
"A projectile that appears to be a North Korean ballistic missile has likely flown over Japan," Japan's PM officeThe Japanese government has called for residents to evacuate or take shelter from North Korea's Tuesday missile. The missile fell in waters outside of Japan’s exclusive economic zone, Matsuno said noting that the nation will work with UN Security Council, US, South Korea and international society.
Separately, South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff announced that North Korea has fired an "unidentified ballistic missile," without giving further details.
