Prime Minister Boris Johnson is believed to have given inaccurate information on Chris Pincher because it related to discussions ‘some years ago’ Downing Street has suggested that Boris Johnson failed to provide accurate information about what he knew of allegations surrounding Chris Pincher because he had forgotten.
The PM’s spokesman admitted that Mr Johnson had been briefed about the incident in the summer of 2019. He said: “The Prime Minister was made aware of this issue in late 2019, he was told that the permanent secretary had taken the necessary action, no issue therefore arose about remaining as a minister.
