Stephanopoulos asked Haley in August to explain why she said Vice President Kamala Harris would finish President Joe Biden’s term if he was reelected.
Stephanopoulos also asked her why she would support former President Donald Trump if he was convicted of a felony. Haley pledged to support him the previous night at a Republican primary debate.I am not comfortable with a President Kamala Harris becoming president. I think we would be in a far worse situation,” she said.
“Well you’re assuming that he’s convicted, and you’re assuming he’s going to be the nominee,” Haley answered before Stephanopoulos interrupted to tell her she previously accepted that assumption when pledging to vote for Trump. The anchor argued Haley didn’t answer his question, noting Americans’ beliefs were irrelevant when discussing whether Biden would finish a second term.
