), Cage plays a professor who finds himself in the midst of celebrity after he begins to appear in the dreams of strangers.
The trailer, set to hit Nineties hit single “Dreams” by the Cranberries, sees Cage’s Paul Matthews sifting through hundreds of messages, doing his best Edward Scissorhands impression for media photoshoots, and claiming, “Why me? Uh, I don’t know! I’m special, I guess,” during a television interview. In one scene, Cage tells his onscreen daughter, “So, I’m finally cool, huh?” before celebrating his “cool dad” status. However, his viral popularity takes a dark turn when the visions of him turn into nightmares and he’s the imagined culprit behind hammer attacks and assaults. As both friends and strangers start to fear him, Matthews is warned of the “less desirable side effects” of fame.
