Nicki Minaj chose an avant-garde Marni look for the Met Gala 2024 that was perfectly on theme.
Given tonight’s Met Gala guests adhered to “The Garden of Time” dress code, it’s not surprising that many A-list celebrities embraced sprightly florals on the red carpet. But few did so as well as Nicki Minaj. This evening, the rap superstar transformed herself into a whole floral sculpture – courtesy of an avant-garde design by Marni’s Francesco Risso.
The star’s custom hourglass minidress, done in a hand-painted golden silk duchess material, was covered in 3-D metal flowers that were also hand-painted in various sprightly hues. Complete with the floral shoes and dazzling jewels to match, she resembled a high-fashion bouquet. Minaj is a pro when it comes to nailing fashion at the Met Gala. This evening marked her seventh time attending the affair, and over the years she has always brought drama and theatrics to the red carpet.
