'Marie Curie holds a special place in my heart due to the care and compassion nurses at the hospice gave to my dad in his final days.”

For Tori Watson, March 7th is a date with mixed emotions. This year it was particularly bittersweet as it marked 20 years since she lost her devoted dad, Paisley, to cancer.

Following a cancer diagnosis, Paisley was admitted to the Marie Curie hospice in East Belfast on Valentine's Day, 14th February, 2004. There during his final days, he was cared for by the wonderful team of nurses before he died just 23 days later on 7th March, aged 50. With the support of family and friends, including her proud mum Carolyn and fiancé, David, Tori has raised over £4,000 for Marie Curie.

Tori works as a journalist at UTV in Belfast which is part of ITV. The company offers all employees three volunteering days each year with any charity of their choosing. "I was running in memory of my dad but volunteering gave me an insight into just how far reaching Marie Curie care is and that was a mega motivation for me to keep running."

Ciara Gallagher, Marie Curie Northern Ireland's Head of Fundraising, said: "For Tori to remember the care her father received at our hospice 20 years later and to complete this running challenge to raise money for our charity is just amazing.
