Grant Shapps said the NHS must do ‘whatever it takes’ to fix the current crisis including using ‘temporary, modular’ buildings to treat patients

Mr Shapps told Nick Ferrari at Breakfast on LBC this morning: “The most important thing is to deal with the backlogs.

Steve Barclay, the Health Secretary, said the idea would content with staff shortages and record waiting times. He has pledged £50m to pay for the temporary buildings to create extra space for overcrowded A&E departments. Any pay deal could be linked to changes in working practices to make NHS staff more productive, the Telegraph reported.
