The NHS has advised people to not allow their thermostat in their home to dip below a certain temperature during the winter, in order to protect against the cold.
As the winter months approach us at a rapid speed, many people will think about sticking their heating on during the day rather than just for an hour at night.
The national weather forecaster also said that Saturday will feel significantly chillier, with temperatures falling below the average for this time of year. This is particularly more important if you aren't very mobile, are aged 65 or over, or have a long-term health condition, such as heart or lung disease.
The health service adds that families with babies should heat rooms between 16C and 20C while they sleep to help reduce the risk of sudden infant death syndrome.
