Residents have rallied round to help with the clean-up at Scarborough Library, the council says.
A newly refurbished library had its windows broken days after a government minister came to inspect the work.On Sunday night, a number of windows were smashed "causing thousands of pounds in repairs", North Yorkshire Council said.
Arts minister Lord Parkinson had visited the library on Vernon Road last Friday to see the results of renovation work.
