Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed Newcastle United could be a “stepping stone” for PIF’s ambitions to revolutionise football in Saudi Arabia., the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – claimed PIF could buy four more clubs in the Pro League, and eventually end up owning the entire top flight.

“They could now go for four more clubs, and give them resources.
