New York ruffled feathers: EmpireStateBldg slammed for going green after Eagles win
Following the Eagles' 31-7 win over the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC championship game, the iconic New York City building tweeted a photo of its tribute to the Philadelphia NFL team.
“Fly @Eagles Fly! We’re going Green and White in honor of the Eagles NFC Championship Victory,” the Empire State Building tweeted. As the representative for the Empire State Building, and a diehard Giants fan, let me be on the record saying that this is absolutely ridiculous. ⬇️ https://t.
New York’s city departments even took notice, with its department of sanitation deflecting attention away from the Eagles. New York City Councilman Justin Brannan called for a new law that would ban a city building from displaying the colors of a non-New York team.
