As New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio floated the possibility of a"shelter in place" order, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo denied that a full-blown lockdown of the Big Apple was looming.
On Tuesday, Cuomo adamantly dismissed the rumors, saying they were"not true" and were being fueled by people's fears and anxieties. "You say all of New York you must shelter in place, I'll go stay with my cousin in New Jersey," Cuomo added."That makes the situation worse, not better." While resistant to"nothing," when it comes to controlling the spread of the virus, the governor advocated for state-wide policies and even regional policies.
