Breaking: NYC’s public school system—the U.S.'s largest—will close to stem the spread of the coronavirus
Paul Berger and Lee HawkinsNew York City’s public school system—the largest in the country—and all other school districts in downstate New York will close to stem the spread of the coronavirus, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said.
Mr. Cuomo made the announcement in a series of radio interviews Sunday afternoon. New York City schools will close early this week, according to Melissa DeRosa, the secretary to the governor.
