A judge in 2022 ordered Joseph Leschinskie removed from Shamokin city council of his criminal record.
SUNBURY – The Shamokin city councilman removed from office last year because of his criminal record is likely headed to state prison unless his appeals are successful.
Tuesday Woelfel sentenced Leschinskie to one to three months in prison on a charge of using an audio or video device in a court proceeding.Leschinskie has appealed that sentence and says he plans to do the same with latest one. He remains free because of the appeals. In the case in which he was sentenced Tuesday, a jury in March found him guilty of using an audio device to record a 2019 court hearing in a speeding case.
