The first phase of the shift away from Lighthouse took place earlier this month, with 30 of 61 spaces being transitioned to Salvation Army. In the coming weeks, the province and STC announced Friday, the remaining 31 spaces will be operated by Saskatoon Tribal Council. As part of the change and “to support this transition,” the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation will provide a location at 415 Fairmont Drive for the STC to lease for its emergency wellness centre, the province and STC announced.

In June 2022, the province announced it would transition government-funded services from Lighthouse Supported Living to other community partners. The province on Friday said those changes came “following challenges with governance, management and financial controls, and safety concerns due to the concentration of services in one location.”Article content
