Plans have been submitted to transform the former shop into a Caribbean restaurant
It's one of Stockport's most historic and storied streets, and it could soon be home to a new Caribbean dining concept.
A planning application for the new food and drink concept was submitted in September, and detailed the proposed changes to the other part of the building. The application states that the primary design changes are focused on the interior space, but there are also modifications to the external front façade.
SJS Smith Jewellery opened in the adjoining unit of the old Stage Door Unit back in September. The ground floor is a shop selling founder Sam Smith's creations, while downstairs there is a workshop that hosts silversmithing schools for beginners, as well as workbenches to rent for silversmiths. The plans for the the remaining part of the former Stage Door unit comes just a couple of weeks after it was confirmed a new pizza spot would also open on Little Underbank. Alfredo's Social will launch in the iconic Winter's building in the coming weeks and will offer a selection of Italian-inspired small plates and wood-fired pizzas.
