It covers a seven-mile stretch on the A581 between Rufford and Euxton with the speed limit varying between 20mph and 50mph
Lancashire County Council said the cameras have been installed on the A581 between Rufford in West Lancashire and Euxton in Chorley. The speed limit on the seven-mile stretch will vary between 20mph and 50mph and is enforced by the cameras placed at strategic points.
The other five routes are on the A6 from Lancaster city centre through Scotforth and Galgate to J33 of the M6; the A588 from Lancaster's Pointer roundabout to Skippool; the A682 from Barrowford to Long Preston; and the A683 from the M6 J34 at Lancaster to Kirkby Lonsdale. Offences recorded by the average speed cameras will be processed by Lancashire Constabulary.
The council said an initial evaluation shows there has been a reduction in collisions of up to 86% on these routes. However the Facebook post has drawn criticism from some motorists.
