Neighbours boss reveals why KylieMinogue and Jason Donovan barely said anything in final show
Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan delighted fans by returning to Neighbours for its finale episode, but many viewers were left puzzled over how little the duo said while in Ramsay Street.
He added that the 54 year old stars. who both found fame on the soap back in the '80s, didn't want their highly-anticipated return to “overshadow” the show and its latest cast members."They didn't want to overshadow the current cast or make the finale about them. We also filmed their scenes before I'd written the episode, so whatever we filmed had to fit in with that."
Some fans came up with theories about their lack of dialogue, saying Kylie could have been paid “word for word”. Another quipped: “It was a pretty benign scene which they could easily have fitted into any script. Even if she'd just said "remember where we first met?!" or "hmm, I know a way in!" She didn't need to be completely mute. And not saying anything has actually brought more attention!”
