Like it or not, it's the windy season. A strong south wind will push temperatures into the 80s today. Storms could return tonight. I'm assessing the severe threat. - NBC 5 Meteorologist Grant Johnston
A strong south wind will continue today across North Texas blowing in around 15 to 30 mph. This wind will help push afternoon temperatures into the 80s. It will also fuel a high threat for grass-fires to the west of DFW. Meanwhile, higher humidity in DFW and points to the east will keep the fire danger in check. This higher humidity will contribute to thunderstorm chances late tonight.
A cold front will draw near around midnight tonight, bringing storm chances to DFW between 2-6 a.m. Wednesday. Some of these storms could be severe with a threat for damaging winds and hail, especially farther to the east. Cooler weather will push in behind the front Wednesday. Highs will stay in the 60s for a few days to wrap up the work-week.
Weekend highs will rebound back into the 70s for the Easter holiday. A low chance of rain is in the forecast Friday, but Easter Sunday looks dry.Weather Connection
