An animal rescue centre has had to close and throw out all of its bedding due to a “contagious disease”.
In a post to Facebook this afternoon , The National Animal Welfare Trust Hertfordshire shared that its Tylers Way base, which is usually open to the public, has been shut.It expects to be able to open as normal at 11am tomorrow morning but called for donations from the public to help it get back up and running.
The charity said: “This deep clean does mean that we are having to dispose of all our bedding, so desperately need some more donated, if you have any towels, duvets, blankets or sheets that you could donate it would be a huge help.”The Watford location was its first rescue and re-homing centre. It spans four and a half acres and looks after more than 400 animals a year, including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and other small animals.We want our comments to be a lively and valuable part of our community - a place where readers can debate and engage with the most important local issues.
