Exclusive: Screen Rant presents a clip from the upcoming BETPlus thriller movie from Wes Miller, CallHerKing, starring Naturi Naughton and Lance Gross. Check the full film out on July 6:

Screen Rant is proud to present an exclusive clip from BET+ and BlackLight’s new feature, Call Her King. The thriller will be available to stream on BET+ starting Thursday, July 6th, and centers around a high-stakes hostage situation. After Judge Jaeda King sentences Sean Samuels to death, the convict's brother hijacks the courthouse and threatens everyone in it. With civilian lives hanging in the balance, Jaeda must rely on her skills and intellect to find a way to defend her throne.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Call Her King is written and directed by Wes Miller. Miller has worked on several projects including A Day to Die, Hell on the Border, and Atone. Naturi Naughton leads the film as Judge Jaeda King, alongside Lance Gross as Gabriel, who also goes by the title "Black Caesar." Naughton is most well-known for playing Tasha St. Patrick in Power, while Gross portrayed Calvin in Tyler Perry's House of Payne.

Just when it appears as if they've temporarily made it to safety, another gunman is hot on their tail. The scene quickly turns into an intense shootout as they attempt to flee from the current floor in one piece. The clip ends when the group slips into the elevator in the nick of time, leaving the shooter fuming in their wake.

Call Her King is the first feature under Andrew van den Houten and Wes Miller's BLacklight Entertainment banner. The duo produced the film for their newly formed company, which aims to provide entertainment-related opportunities for people of color and other traditionally disadvantaged groups. Following the release of its debut film, BLacklight Entertainment will hopefully have many more projects to come.
