Nottinghamshire Police says a man was left unconscious after an attack at the INK nightclub

A man had to undergo surgery and was placed on a liquid diet after a "nasty" Nottingham nightclub attack left him with a suspected broken jaw. Nottinghamshire Police says the victim is still struggling to sleep following the assault, which happened at the INK nightclub on Queen Street.

Taking place at around 3am on February 17, Nottinghamshire Police says the 23-year-old victim had been on a night out with friends when he was punched near the bar area. He was left unconscious and taken to hospital the day after the attack, with a suspect having ran away and left the venue. Police say they have carried out an "extensive" CCTV search to locate the suspect and have now released images as part of their investigation. Officers are appealing for anyone who recognises the man in the pictures to get in touch on 101, quoting incident number 0351 of February 19.PC Natalie Gooderman, who is investigating the incident, said: "This was a nasty attack on a man just enjoying his night out.

"The victim had to be on a liquid diet for three weeks due to his injuries and is still struggling to sleep in the aftermath of the attack. We are determined to catch the man responsible and ensure justice is served. This type of behaviour will not be tolerated in our city venues."
