The family of a man who died following an attack at an Edinburgh bus stop have said they are 'devastated' over the senseless murder. Nashir Ahmed, 65, and his friend were approached and set upon by another man at around 8.30pm on Sunday 10 March. Mr Ahmed died at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh on Friday and detectives are treating his death as murder. Mr Ahmed's friend, a 48-year-old man, was discharged from hospital after receiving treatment for serious leg and facial injuries.
Detective Chief Inspector George Calder previously described the attack as a 'completely random and unprovoked assault' and said officers were following a 'number of positive lines of enquiry'.
