The last days to swim at Naperville's Centennial Beach before it closes for the season will be Saturday through Monday.Some Naperville Park District facilities will be closed and others will have holiday hours over the Labor Day weekend and because of the Last Fling festival. The adjusted schedule is:Fort Hill Activity Center will have normal hours Friday through Sunday, Sept. 1-3, and will be open from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4.
Knoch Knolls Nature Center will be open regular hours Friday and Saturday, Sept. 1-2, and will be closed Sunday and Monday, Sept. 3-4.Springbrook and Naperbrook golf courses will have normal operating hours.Centennial Beach will be open from 9 a.m. to dusk Saturday, Sept. 2, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday and Monday, Sept. 3-4, with an adults-only float from 9 to 10:55 a.m.
Dave Della Terza, executive director of the Naperville Public Library, said in the release that state funding makes it possible to maintain reasonable property taxes while still providing the collections, programming and services the community wants.Grant amounts are given annually to qualified Illinois public libraries based on the population of the library’s service area, according to the secretary of state’s office.
“Libraries are the backbone of our community, expanding how young kids, seniors and working families can access vital information and resources,” Yang Rohr said in a statement. “The Public Library Per Capita Grant’s funding will open up opportunities for local libraries to add to their digital and physical collections.”
