This is Baumgartner's fourth year on the show.
Cam Baumgartner, a Naperville resident and North Central College student, will be competing in the national finals of"American Ninja Warrior," which airs Monday night on NBC.
“The worst part for me is the nerves that come with it,” he said. “Half of these obstacles you have never seen before and never tried so you are always taking into account this could happen and what happens if that happens. It’s very nerve-wracking when you step up on that start line.” “When I started my journey four years ago, I was hesitant because I was thrown right into it,” he said. “I applied, I made it on the show and maybe had two or three months of training.
He suffered another disqualification during the 12th season in 2020 after showing some promise but in the 13th season last year, he made it to the national finals, where he missed a grab on the Swinging Blades obstacle, ending his run quickly.“I was just going to go out there and give it everything I got and do my best,” he said of last year’s finals appearance.
