An investigation has been launched to find the book which was used by sex workers during the time of Emma Caldwell's murder that has since vanished.
A search is ongoing to try and locate a 'beware book' which contained a list of dangerous clients of sex workers in Glasgow around the time of Emma Caldwell's murder.
He was finally jailed for life last month after a failed police investigation allowed him to walk free for nearly two decades - despite overwhelming evidence he was the key suspect. Former sex worker Amanda Hainey was amongst women selling sex on the streets of Glasgow who had entered details about abusive, violent or exploitative clients in the 1990s and 2000s.
“Because we didn’t always have real names of punters we would record any information we had. What car they drove, a partial registration plate, what they looked like. We used it to make other girls aware if a punter was violent but also if they didn’t pay for example. “I was told the books were destroyed, I don’t know why but it could have been because of the information it held.”The book also contained sex workers’ accounts of rape and sexual assault by Packer.
